Students of Meadowbrook Prep
Students of Meadowbrook Prep
Daily worship plays an integral part of the Meadowbrook Prep. School life for teachers and pupils. Every Wednesday morning all grades along with the teachers, who worship together in the Meadowbrook United Church with the School's Chaplain Rev. Norlene Jackson. Students are encouraged to "care and share" hence, every Friday they are asked to contribute an offering. This is used to help needy boys and girls in various Children's Homes.

The school also sets out to provide a rounded education for the children and attempts to help them in learning. In accordance with this aim and the three R's, students do Physical Education, Art, Music, Dance, Spanish and Computer Studies.

In an attempt to instill positive and lasting values of sharing, competing, discipline, integrity and confidence in each child, specific activities are organised to motivate students and encourage their participation and display of good sportsmanship. Pupils are given the opportunity to take part in Preparatory School competitions such as football, netball and athletics.

We can be proud of the fact that our students, over the years have not failed to show great courage and good qualities in the various events. An inter-house competition is held annually. Pupils form the four houses compete in the areas of football, netball and athletics. In the establishment of a House System within the school, the Houses are named after persons who have made invaluable contributions to the development of the school. For instance, Miss. M.F. Gartshore was the first headmistress of the school. Rev. Madge Saunders was a member of the group who worked tirelessly to get the school started. Mr. Keith Sullivan was a member of Webster Memorial Church, he was very active working for the establishment of the school. When funds had to be found to construct the school building, Mr. Sullivan offered to have his life insured to raise the required sum.

It is evident that the achievements and growth of the Meadowbrook Preparatory School is a result of the unstinting efforts of conscientious members of the immediate school environment, as well as others further afield. Dedicated Ministers of Religion, Principals, Academic and non-academic staff have left an indelible mark mark on this institute as well as on the lives of past and present students.

The number of students on our roll has moved from a mere twenty-eight to over four hundred. Our students, both past and present have continued to aim for greater heights as they "prepare to serve". We hope that as we continue to work and pray, levels of excellence will be maintained throughout the years ahead.
